PyWeek - I've calmed down nowWell, after the initial shock, I managed to come up with an idea fairly quickly, but I've been too busy coding to talk about it. I've just got to the point of having something vaguely playable, so I've made a submission. It's marked final just in case I don't get around to making another one, but I hope to expand on it a bit before the deadline.— gcewing on 2006/09/07 23:54 of Sneak Comments: (log in to comment) |

Looking good, and plays well.Did you do the character animation yourself?

Yes, and I surprised myself with how well it turned out. I don't feel very talented when it comes to organic artwork, especially when it needs to be animated. I have extreme respect for the people who do that kind of thing for a living!By richard on 2006/09/08 00:51:
It looks great! :)By richard on 2006/09/08 01:16:
On playing it a little more, I think the character movement would be easier to control if there was an acceleration phase before he hits top speed. It would only need to take a second or so. I found it a little difficult to line up with the ladders.By gcewing on 2006/09/08 04:17:
Yes, or maybe separate walk/run modes.By richard on 2006/09/08 04:53:
I'd prefer acceleration :)
