So patrick and I started working at 5pm local time. It is now 1am and I'm going to bed.

Accomplishments:

decided on idea, sketched out class diagram, decided on rough sprite sizes
level editor prototype
main menu screen
cutscene engine with caption-style dialogue
blue rectangle that floats and falls
