PyWeek - X-25 Unplugged - feedback

Fun Prod Inno Disq N/W Comments
2 3 4 Great work!
3 4 5 You need to work a little on the control then it would be really interessting.
3 3 4 Nice idea. gameplay can be improved.
3 4 4 The control system was quite unintuitive, but I liked what you were trying to do with it.
3 3 4 Nice simple game.. the music was nice. Nice game play elements..
3 4 4 Nice innovation regarding the control!
3 3 5 Very interesting idea, but a little slow (slow gameplay wise, the framerate was fine) and very awkward to control. Mouse control would have helped a lot - having to move the plugs over one slot at a time made it very unwieldy.
2 3 3 Music this good
4 3 4 Fun concept. The controls are kind of a pain, but that is ok. I managed to get under the ground when trying to climb the wall, and I crashed the game, but couldn't replicate it and didn't have the console.
2 2 3 The text was fit to a window about six characters wider than the actual game screen. It was therefore quite difficult to establish what to do.
3 4 5 Nicely done! I like the game quite a bit. It was interesting to think about, and it was a challenge to learn the different robot modes. I never got the feet to do anything, and didn't figure out why you could turn the robot upside-down, but still I had fun with it! :) The game started to go a bit slow in the middle of the second level, but it was still fun. Great innovation -- nice premise -- well done!

2 3 3 ok
5 4 5 Nice!
2 4 4 I like it but it isn't funny to me
4 3 4 Nice game, I totally enjoyed music! Good Innovation. Arts could be better thought :)

2 2 2 nice
2 2 2 nice
2 3 4 Neat idea, but kind of buggy. I played for about 15+ minutes, and I couldn't get the hang of the controls. I also got "stuck" quite a bit.
3 3 4 I found the interface a bit clumsy and the graphics are.. um.. ok. ;)
2 3 5 Very innovative! Unfortunately, it's also very boring to play.
2 3 4 Nice idea and nice game, but it is a bit hard to quickly change the circuts the way it should be - and I was able to fall through the ground in the first level XD
4 1 5 Really brilliant use of theme, and a completely original concept. The idea of capturing the fun of trying to figure somethiing out was just wonderful. Sadly I ran into a number of technical problems, with the robot flipping below the ground, being thrown around the world, and what felt like random crashes. However I found myself playing over and over again trying to make it farther despite the constant stream of random bugs. Also, I found the interface nearly impossible to manage and unnecessarily complicated. A simple mouse based scheme would have been brilliant and appropriate. I think with technical issues sorted out, and better production values it could be a really wonderful game. here's a traceback for a random crash --- Traceback (most recent call last): File "run_game.py", line 30, in main.main() File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\main.py", line 24, in main director.run (intro.IntroScene()) File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\cocos\director.py", line 175, in run self.scene.step( dt ) File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\world.py", line 140, in step self.world.step(dt) File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\world.py", line 49, in step self.robot.step (dt/3*self.speed) File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\robot.py", line 179, in step p.hit_ground(m, G) File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\robot.py", line 79, in hit_ground fx, fy, floor = map.floor (x, y) File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\map.py", line 97, in floor while self[cx, cy].bottom(x-cx) is None: File "C:\development\pyweek\PyWeek6-OtherEntries\x25-1.0\lib\map.py", line 90, in __getitem__ return self.cells[y][x] IndexError: list index out of range
